Literary History & Arts in Estate Records

Many of Hertfordshire’s landowning families moved in brilliant literary, political and social circles. Among their papers are letters from famous artists, novelists, playwrights and poets, including Charles Dickens and Oscar Wilde and Henry James.  Here are a few of our favourites to give you a taste of what’s available at Hertfordshire Archives and Local Studies.
