Royal Family in Estate Records

Its proximity to London has made Hertfordshire a favourite haunt of royalty. Every monarch has visited the county and some, such as Elizabeth I, have stayed for much longer. It is always exciting to come across an original royal signature, or the Great Seal of a monarch attached to a document in the collection at Hertfordshire Archives, and there are many to be found here in Hertfordshire.
