1 Thu.

Very fine morning. Cart peas Blankets piece. W Rolfe called to the Wheat and 5 men went away. Began cart wheat tonight. Horse and Cart James Gash.

2 Fri.

Very wet morning. fine after, heavy thunder, wet afternoon. Man and Mr. Ivory to wall pig sty. 9 Men cutting wheat in Nightshill and Potterscraft. Thatch hay rick.

3 Sat.

Dull morning. Cutting wheat, rather wet. Turn peas. Bricklayers to house.

5 Mon.

Damp dull morning. Hoe turnips Gt W E Field. Cut thistles Lt B[ury] Field. Water cart Simeon Child. 2 doz. ginger beer 2s 6d paid.

6 Tue.

Very fine windy morning 8 men cutting wheat [in] Nightshill. Fetch water cart home. Father called twice.

7 Wed.

Dull damp morning, heavy thunder afternoon. Bricklayers to wall.Paid for beer 3s 4d. Rev T T Drake married to Miss Trotter and Stocker married to Miss Dixon at Hemel Hempstead. W Rolfe called today to look at wheat, [sent]12 bushel offal wheat to mill.

14 Wed.

Fine dull heavy morning. Oat cart in Redins then cart Potterscraft Wheat and in Nightshill.

15 Thu.

Very heavy dewy morning. Rough thatch ricks. Cart Wheat Nightshill very dry

19 Mon.

Very fine warm morning. Mowing Barley top of Stockindells. Sold Daniel Fleen 3 heifers and calf £59. Mow barley Gt B Field. Paid Maylin for Men £4 19 0

20 Tue.

Dull, fine morning, windy day. Mow Tares H Hide, mow Barley Gt. B Field and cart Barley [to the] top of Stockindells Barn.

24 Sat.

Very heavy foggy morning. Reaping Oats with machine by W Smith. Edwin Rolph came to machine and sharp[ened] knives.

27 Tue.

Fine dull morning. Turn Barley Barley cart Gt B Field. Wheelbarrow of Simeon Child.

29 Thu.

Very fine morning Cart Beans H Meads field Carting Barley Stockindells 1 horse and water cart to the Grove Sold lame colt to William Halsey £16
