WW1 War Memorial

Markyate Hertfordshire

By John Chalkley

The War Memorial was erected in Markyate village in Honour of their young men who sacrificed their lives on the battlefields of France and Belgium during the 1914-18 conflict. In tracing my Family Tree I identified two of my close family (Half Uncles) who were killed in 1914 and appear on this memorial.
