Ayot Saint Peter is a small rural parish in the Welwyn Hatfield district of Hertfordshire, approximately a mile from Welwyn village.

The civil parish of Ayot Saint Peter includes Ayot Green, Ayot Little Green, Ayot Saint Peter Road, the eastern end of Water End Lane, Ryefield Farm, Linces Farm and properties on the west side of Whitehill and Homerswood Lane. This totals around 75 dwellings and the population is less than 200 individuals. The parish has a Parish Meeting as it is too small to have a parish council.

  • This is the school that I attended from the age of five. Teacher was Mrs Higson. We were collected from our home in Ayot St Lawrence by Mr Clarke in his Austin 12 taxi. He came from Old Welwyn. I was here until the school closed in 1948. Pupils were then sent to the junior or senior schools in Welwyn.
