These Photo’s were taken on New Road, out side Fred East [that might be him on the lorries] shop and P.O., there were petrol pumps , he was a real character and his wife Olive[I think]run the shop, with an iron hand , only for regulars , lots of under the counter goods ,I remember, coupons, ration books . We had a street party , but as it rained so we held it in the barns [now the Farm Shop] of Mr Campbell, Battler Green Farm. I have a Photo of the fancy dress parade I will send you for you site .
