The Brown ‘Tin’ Shed was the next development after the old Silk Mill, by Extracts Ltd. It was used for roasting and packing coffee, as shown in these pictures.
The lower photograph shows the roasting being carried out by Fred Boatwright (left) and Bill Ellis, while the packing in the top picture shows Mrs. Hawkins in the white shoes.
