A photograph taken from a rear bedroom window of Tom Piper’s home, c.1885.
The gardens belonged to a row of cottages where Russell Harborough’s Jam Factory later stood.  The road with Lockhart’s coal merchants cottage is Farey Lane.  The railway was built in 1877.
