Every village needs a carnival or festival and these delightful photographs were taken by Andrea Lane who is a photographer in Tring

Where would be without the Classic Cars, the beer tent and the Morris Men? On a more serious note the Wigginton History Society is putting together the Wigginton Archive 2009 to 2010 to create a record of the future. More will added from time to timeshowing everyday activity for future generations.

The past has been recorded

We look with great interest at old local photographs, puzzling over whose Great Granny the young lady is on the left or we are amazed at the farm machinery in use in years past or marvel at the ladies straw plaiting skills.

But who is recording the Present? A solution

Under the sponsorship of the Wigginton History Society, we are gathering together 150 to 200 photographs of Wigginton 2009 to 2010.

“There are so many interesting organisations in the Village. Apart from the Football Team, the School, Champneys and the Church we have an International Folk Dancing Group, Classical Yoga and Busy Bodies Creative Dance,” said Richard Tregoning, Chairman of Wigginton History Society.   “We hope people will take pictures of themselves in their places of work, or at leisure in Wigginton”.   “And we must not forget the buildings, because they are changing all the time” added Graham Collins, Committee Member.

The result – A snapshot in time

So please take some photos, on film or digitally and let us have them so that the present can be recorded for future generations. You can contact us by sending a comment to this page.
