The Maidenhead Inn, Hoddesdon

Demolished in 1964
By S Williams
The sad sight of The Maidenhead, one of Hoddesdon’s oldest inns, half demolished.  It was first mentioned in the 16th century, though there had a been a house on the site since the 1300s.

The Maidenhead and the High Pavement properties in Amwell Street came down in 1964 to make way for The Tower Centre.
