The Grand Union Canal - Boxmoor to Berkhamsted Walk

Barging about at Easter
By Ian Phipps

We walked to Berkhamsted on a chilly day along the Grand Union Canal. It rained, sleeted, hailed and also snowed slightly. A perfect Hertfordshire walk for my wife and I. My motivation was the pint of beer waiting for me in a pub in Berkhamsted and hers was just the exercise and 'fresh' air.

I have also added a couple of photographs from a long weekend we spent on a barge, going from Tring up to Stoke Bruerne and back. This entailed going through a great many locks both ways and resulted in us getting quite sunburned over Easter in 2007.
