Did Thomas find any work?

My mother who will be 94 in May does not not know whether her Grandparents Thomas and Annie found work in Wales. However, she recalls being told "that the veins in Thomas's legs burst during the journey" (not a very medical description). Like a lot of Currell's, Thomas, Annie and there children eventually moved from Hitchin to live and find work in the Hounslow and Wandsworth areas. The moved was certainly pre-1916, which was when my mother was born.
