Herts Military Records Project

An archivist is working to catalogue and make available for research the records of volunteer, territorial, auxiliary and reserve military units raised in Hertfordshire 1663 – 1994, held at Hertfordshire Archive and Local Studies, including records of the Hertfordshire Yeomanry and the Hertfordshire Regiment. These predominantly consist of photographs, ephemera and the research notes of Colonel J. D. Sainsbury (1938 - 2013). A group of volunteers are working in the project, to catalogue and digitise the many images, produce an exhibition and write articles relating to the collection. The project is initially running from April – October 2017.

If you have any enquires relating to the collection or the project please contact Hertfordshire Archives and Local Studies on 0300 1234 049.
