23rd April 1822

St. George’s Day. The King holds his birth on this day although his natal day is the 12th August. He considers this season best for the different manufactories. – Mrs. Bowen’s children arrived from India to the care of Mrs. Nicholson.

8th April 1823

Barnet Fair. Mr. A. bought a Black Horse, gave thirty guineas,  intended for a cart-horse but means to try him as a coach-horse — Nicholas Fiott came from Croydon after attending Mrs. Harden’s funeral.

23rd April 1827

My much beloved & valued husband & friend departed this life… I am most truly thankful that I was endu’d with strength to attend to the wants and comforts of the dear sufferer! & never left him till his angel spirit had fled to the regions of bliss, with humble hope the almighty will look upon his summary partner & ended her with the same fortitude and resignation – And that every respectful tribute to his memory may be enforced by her, whose greatest pleasure is in performing her duty to one who values she justly reveres.

9th April 1831

Sister, self, Mrs. Hale & Mary Hale went to Edgware, w’ch prov’d a pleasant day. H. Fiott rode back to Coventry farm with us. – William Fiott came from town to dinner.
