My Dear Father
Just one line to let you know I am alive and very fit and well. I can tell you nothing as you know probably, but just that, and I write to Coog whenever I get a chance of sending a letter, but I know you like to hear if only a scrap. Ever so many thanks to you and the rest of the family for your delightful letters, which are a real Godsend to me, and you can hardly realize how much I appreciate hearing what news you all give me. I know how much you at home are thinking and one can only trust to God and do one’s very best for the Country.
We keep most cheerful and so far very well. God keep you all, my very best love,
Your very affectionate Son
