About my Piece
I chose to stitch a mirror surround which tells the story of George Clifford’s privateering between Hertfordshire and the West Indies. I used stitched motifs to illustrate his voyages; the motifs along the side have been copied from a letter from his daughter Anne. For me a mirror reflects time passing to the viewer.
