We've finished!
The last meeting before the Threads of Time exhibition
By Daphne Knott
At last, the Threads of Time project is nearly complete. Today, the participants brought in their finished pieces of work. We have watched with interest as half-finished, or even barely started works have progressed and developed, but now everybody’s work can be seen in its full glory. There have been some surprises, as several folk have managed to produce two or even three pieces of work. The final pieces were opened in front of everybody to much excitement. Every piece tells a story and throws new light on the many ways in which this archive collection has spoken to and inspired the participants in the project. Are you curious to find out about this new way of using HALS collections? Visit the exhibition at HALS during our normal opening hours 11-28 June. Entry is free and you will be able to see a selection of the documents used as inspiration for this project as well as the works themselves.
