Watford,

Sarah Priestly from Watford museum tells us that Audrey worked as an NHS pathology technician during the 1950’s in Watford injecting urine into toads. Doctors would post their patients urine samples to Audrey and the team for a pregnancy diagnosis, which would be positive if the injected toad then laid eggs! Read more about Audrey’s work and the Xenopus Test .
