  • Dear Brenda

Eliza married James Hawkins and they had ten children. James was listed as a Brewer. Most of the children worked in the hat factories in Luton. One of their sons, Amos decided to leave and went to London working as a footman. He then went to the Royal Courts of Justice and worked as a “Tipstaff”. If you google Amos Hawkins Tipstaff you will see a lot of information about him. He was my great grandfather. If you want anymore information please contact me through Herts Memories.

    Regards

    Odette

  • Hi Odette, like Allan I have been researching the same family tree for about 30 years.  I would love to know about your descendants through Eliza Coleman and especially in relation to her brothers and sisters/parents.  So if you want to know anything about the New Zealand connections then please contact me through Herts Memories as well.  Looking forward to hearing from you, Kind Regards Brenda
