Roy and me

In September 2007 my husband, Roy and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary.  We invited many friends and relatives to a party at our house.  The weather that year was not of the most memorable so my biggest concern was that we wouldn’t be able to spread out into the garden.  There is a finite number that the house will hold.

I needn’t have worried. The day was glorious and all the guests arrived and were able to be seated. Although we had specified “no presents” they still managed  to fill the house with many flowers most of them thankfully pre-arranged.

For 49 of our now 52 years of marriage, Roy and I have lived in Hertfordshire – first in Potters Bar and now in Harpenden.   Hertfordshire has been kind to us educating not only our two daughters but also myself as at the age of 32 I trained as a teacher at Balls Park College, Hertford.  I believe it is now part of The University of Hertfordshire.

There are many things I could write about the county but suffice it is our home. I never leave the end of my road and looking across the fields thank God for letting me live in such a beautiful area.
