My great-grandmother Annie Sears

By Clifford Art

I found your site while searching for information on my great-grandmother Annie Sears. On her death notice it says she was from East Barnet and born in March 1867. She ended up in South Africa married to my great-grandfather Henry John Art and died at the young age of 31 years in Port Elizabeth. I saw a number of Sears family photographs on your site and was wondering if any of your members can help me find out more about her.

Thank you.

Clifford

  • Thank you for the response. Her name is recorded as Annie and no middle name. I have no information about her parents. If you send me an email address I can send you a copy of her death notice which basically has all the info I have.

  • Hi Clifford – there are several people in the records who could be your great grandmother. Do you have any more information at all? For example, any information about her parents, or her name (did she have a middle name? was her first name actually “Annie” or was that a shortening for Ann?), anything else that could verify her date of birth?
