  • I have just read Mary’s comment and see that we must share common ancestry somewhere along the line. My maternal grandfather was Albert Weatherhead . I would be very pleased to know where our families connect.

  • I am really interested in this as I am a member of the Weatherhead family and have a tree going way back. My family were from Flamstead and some originated in Redbourn but quite a way back in my ancestry.

  • The first photo is Eda Hawkins – she married Charles Cecil Panter. The third photo does not include Ivy Hawkins. I do not know who they are. In the fifth photo of the sluice at Redbournbury mill the lady with the big hair must be Bertha Hawkins. Eda, Ivy and Bertha are my aunts. My father Harry Valentine was the youngest of the 13 Hawkins children and of that lot I am the only male descendant.

  • The first photo is Eda Hawkins. In the third photo is Ivy Hawkins – Eda’s sister. The fourth photo shows the sluice gate at Redbournbury Mill, which Ivy Hawkins family ran following her father. I am sorry I do not have any knowledge of the Weatherhead family. Geoff Webb
