Sharing memories

On Friday 7 May 2010, about 150 past pupils came to the British Schools Museum to share their memories.  The British Schools became Hertfordshire County Council’s Queen Street School in 1903 until it closed its doors in 1969, and children moved to the new Whitehill School.

Past pupils were able to meet Derek Wheeler MBE, the last teacher to be appointed to the staff at Queen Street.  And Molly Eldrett, one of the past pupils, launched her book “Mantle and Matches” recalling her Hitchin childhood.
