Recipe for Rheumatism

An 18th century recipe for the treatment of Rheumatism

Take half an ounce of turkey rhubarb, one ounce of gum guaiacums, one ditto of nitre, one of sulphur, one of flour of mustard.

The whole to be firmly pulverised and well mixed.

A spoonful to be taken in a glass of water on going to bed for three nights, and afterwards if necessary half the quantity for three nights more.
