New Normal
Green shadows
fall in shapes
and spikes
on lonely pavements;
these melancholic remains
of city life.
In the nostalgia café,
figures stoop
over separate tables
together, distant.
A curve of glass
between them
and outside,
pallid green
isolation. Home
at dusk down
muffled streets,
past empty offices,
anonymous urban
air; only stillness
at this edge of now.
