WD Vocal Project is a fun, amateur, acapella choir that meets on Saturdays in term time at Wilshere Dacre School in Hitchin. Led by Charlie Pyne and part of Hitchin Music Project*, it is open to all ages and all abilities and, as the group learns everything by ear, there is no requirement to be able to read music.
We wanted to keep singing together during lockdown so have continued to meet each week via Zoom. We have been excited to work on this beautiful new song composed for lockdown by Charlie Pyne, with lyrics by Charlie Pyne and Hollie Davey, and we hope you enjoy listening to it. Unusually for us it includes some guitar backing provided by Jacob (who also sings on the track).
*Hitchin Music Project offers a number of music groups from the mighty community orchestra – Hitchin Light Orchestra – to smaller ensembles such as Funky Strings, Phat Sax and Garage Clarinets. Headed by Chris Pyne, all groups are open to all ages and all abilities and there are no auditions. We play a huge variety of music and are always pleased to welcome new members.
