Images used in the Flamstead Heritage Project
We have used best endeavours to ascertain copyright ownership for the images we use on Herts Memories. Although we want you to enjoy looking at old photographs, we appreciate that we may inadvertently be infringing someone’s copyright or failing to acknowledge the source.
It is usually very hard or indeed impossible to determine who the author or rights owner is, especially of old, non-commercial photographs.
Many of these images have been published before, often with insufficient attribution or clearance, but with no issues raised. However, publication on the worldwide web is a different matter as the potential reach is much greater.
Of course, we are complying with Herts Memories copyright policies. In addition, we keep careful records of our copyright clearance process.
Where known, in the photo caption, we always attribute both the author and the collector/supplier of the image and, if different, the copyright owner.
However, if you wish to raise any copyright issues or inform us of proper attribution for any of the images we have used, please contact us.
Please note any proposed reuse of this material must follow the rules for the Herts Memories website.
