This print is taken from a book entitled "The Face of Britain, The Home Counties - Middlesex, Surrey, Kent, Hertfordshire and Essex" by S.P.B. Mais published by B.T. Batsford in 1947, so the date for this picture (a hundred years previously) would be approximately 1850.

In Kimpton parish lies the settlement of Blackmore End, in the grounds of the former country house of Birley Baxendale. The Baxendale family were the former owners of ther famous Pickfords removal and carrier firm.
