The church of St. Mary the Virgin in Letchworth Lane is a beautiful small village church which dates mainly from the 12th and 13th centuries.

It is situated between the Letchworth Hall Hotel, which was formerly the mediaeval manor house of old Letchworth, and the 17th century Hall Farm house which is now a pair of semi-detatched cottages.

A brief description of the origins of the current church building can be found in an archeological investigation report prepared in 1990.
