Aerial View of Brooke Bond Oxo

An aerial view of some of the first new buildings erected by Brooke Bond Oxo on the Silk Mill meadow site at the rear of East Common.

The cottage attached to the factory in the foreground was later donated to the village as a museum when Brooke Bond Oxo moved its business to Manchester.

The white building is The Cricketers Public House.  The whole site is now the Brooke End estate.
