The Piper family home was at Hillbury, Dunstable Road, Redbourn.
Gertrude Mary Piper is seen aged 22 in 1922. She was an accomplished violinist and played in Mrs. Scott’s orchestra at Redbourn House. Gertrude was the wife of Sam Skillman Jnr. – both families were very musical.
Her brother Arthur Reginald Piper is seen in 1906 aged 22.
