Evacuees' Arrival
Geoff Webb

It was a traumatic time for these children from the East End of London arriving in Redbourn after leaving their parents at the London stations. With their labels attached to their coats, and clutching their gas masks, they were met at the Scout Hut at the top of Fish Street, Redbourn, and provided with refreshments consisting of sweets and biscuits.

The tall lad on the right is with his five sisters and brothers belonging to the Weddon family.

Adults (left to right): Dorothy Webb, Cis (Dexter) Webb, Fred Arnold, Mabel (Holt) Dunckley, Ray Webb.
