The Harborough family from Turville, Crouch Hall Lane, Redbourn, provided tea on the lawn as a light relief for these wounded soldiers returned from Dunkirk in the summer of 1940.

The lady in the light dress at the rear is Jinnie Harborough. The tall lady nearby in a hat is Gertrude Peake, and to the right is Nellie Green. The young ladies on the right are Ruth Harborough (right) and her sister Jean.
