Eric jnr – just seen your reply. Please remember me to Eric – we had some good times. He used to let me drive the electric bread van on the country bits of the braed round – greatly appreciated still!
I am Erics son and yes he did work as a roundsman for the bakery and I often went on the rounds with him, he has now moved back to Redbourn after sadly loosing my Mother Iris in 2006.
I wonder if this is the Eric Neville who worked as a roundsman at Jack Cooper’s bakery in the early 1950s? If so I did the bread round with him on Saturdays for 2-3 years – High Street, Luton Lane, Bettespol, Fish Street etc. I believe he moved to Milton Keynes after I left.
