Miss May Walker lived at the coach builder’s and blacksmith’s shop at the north end of Redbourn High Street, which later became a petrol station.

Miss Walker owned a building company, which built Crouch Hall Lane, Crouch Hall Gardens and Bettespol Meadows. She was a pioneer photographer in Redbourn, and many of her photographs demonstrate her early life in the village and its history.
