Charabanc Outing

Mums with their children loved to take rides in charabancs on their annual outing to Southend, like this one from Redbourn, c.1922.

Lady in white coat is Alice (Woodward) Ventham sitting next to her sister Chris Peddar with her children Rose and Bill. In front of them are Mrs. Sidney Smith with her son Sidney ‘Jack’. Len Peck is ‘driving’, watched closely by his mate Bill Hobbs.
