From another angle showing the old 'Watch Shop' and cottage that stood where Bill Brooke's newsagent was to be later. It is now a carpet shop.

Two photographs of the cottages showing the covered walkway between them used to reach the Village Hall from the High Street. Locally it was known as ‘Cinema Alley’ from the early days when silent films were shown around the time of the First World War and the 1920s.
