Charlie Collett (right) was a professional heavyweight boxer, and the son of Redbourn’s policeman, Bill Collett.

He is shown posing with Feddie Mills, who was to win world and British cruiserweight titles later, and Watford boxing promoter Eddie Mallett.

The inscription on the picture says: “Good luck to my pal Charlie”, and signed by Freddie Mills.
