Wayne Henry

with Seve Ballesteros

By Geoff Webb

It was a proud day for Wayne Henry, his family and Redbourn when he played in the British Open Championship at Royal Troon in 1989.  He received a few friendly encouraging words from master golfer Seve Ballesteros before play started.

  • Very sorry for my error Wayne and Geoff. Not sure what I was thinking about 10 years ago!

  • Its called st . Andrews and if Wayne had been playing at Troon in 1975 he would of been approx 5 years old

  • I played golf, less well, than Wayne at Redbourne in the early 80s. He never played in the Open but reached final qualifying. The photo here is from 1984 at st Andrews
