Royston Arts Festival
23rd-26th September 2010
The Royston Arts Festival was a four day celebration of the town’s finest artists, writers, musicians and actors. It was run by the people of Royston and many different events and exhibitions went on.
On the Saturday Royston Photographic Society had an exhibition of photographs representing their members work in the parish church. There were some fantastic prints on display and also a slideshow of some really impressive digital photographs was running so you could just take a pew and try to pick your favourite. The society was attempting to photograph 1000 people in Royston that day and probably reached their target. The photos were all head and shoulder shots that will be made into a slideshow and given to the Royston Museum so that in years to come people can see the faces of Royston that day.
Also in the church the Herts Memories website was being demonstrated and local people could add their stories and memories of the area. We look forward to seeing contributions from some of the people we spoke to on the site soon.
