Holdbrook residents association

Summer 2009 art workshop

By Bernie

A brilliant day was had by children and parents at the Holdbrook Community Centre, where children were asked to design and make a piece of artwork that showed what their ideal town would look like.

Not surprisingly, they chose to include lots of places to play. More surprisingly though the children felt it was really good to hide all the car parking underground.

The children used several large sheets to draw the map and places of interest, then made paper houses, schools, garages, shops and other buildings that were placed appropriatly on the sheets. Trees were made of biscuits and paved areas made of jelly sweets.
