My Great Grandfather James Herbert Smith lived at 7 Cecil Road Waltham Cross between 1894 and his death in 1952. He was a nursery worker at one of the nurseries. Unfortunately, I do not know which one. Does anyone know the history of the nurseries at that time and whether employee records exist anywhere.

My Grandfather was a Manager for many years at Hamiltons Nursery, Park Lane,Waltham Cross – if that is of any help
You will now be able to find out which nursery he worked at by looking him up in the 1921 census which was recently published as it gives the employers name.
I am also looking for an ancestor at a Waltham Cross nursery. Any luck Amanda?
