Construction work has just started on this brand new Centre, which is being built from scratch in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire, on the edge of our beautiful 1000 acre River Lee Country Park, which already attracts a million visitors a year.

It will also be the first brand new Olympic venue to be completed and will be a major Centre for white water rafting as well as canoeing after the Games. It’s the only brand new Olympic venue to open for public use before the Games!

As well as being used by the public which can raft and canoe the rapids before the Olympians arrive in 2012, it will be put through its paces in pre-Games training and test events from 2011.

Trains from Liverpool Street take just 20 minutes to reach Cheshunt, from where its a pleasant 20 minute stroll through the Country Park to the White Water Canoe Centre.
