Stories
Do you have a story to tell?
Sketch by Emma Phillips
Hertfordshire Libraries and Nysa Projects invite you to share your memories and experiences of growing up and hope that these stories will inspire pieces of art.
Your lived experiences are stories with the potential to entertain, amuse, move or even terrify! So far members of the Hertfordshire community have told a fantastic range of stories. From a holiday romance to war time memories and dare devil cycle rides across the countryside, the true stories we have received are undoubtedly better than fiction.
Children and families have joined in with the project too, sharing stories across generations and finding out that little bit more about the adventures their parents and grandparents took part in when they were younger.
Please enjoy the stories and feel free to leave a comment on the page with your response. If you are inspired to share your own story, please email mystory@hertfordshire.gov.uk.
**We try our best to ensure that what we share is as safe as possible for our readers, adding content warnings where we can. The stories people share are their perspective and experience and may be triggering so please be careful when reading. If you need support please do contact the Samaritans on Freephone 116 123.
