Wives and friends of Redbourn’s Home Guard members during the Second World War helped to form village youngsters into a concert party which gave performances in the Village Hall and surrounding villages, with proceeds going to Salute the Soldier Week, and other wartime charities.
Gwen arranged the musical numbers and dance routines, and in later years taught dancing locally.
