The Sansom Family

The Sansom family home was at Ver House, at the south end of Redbourn High Street.

Rear (left to right): Dr. O’Malley, Charles, Nell, Tom.

Front (left to right): Mary, Harry, Mr. & Mrs. John Sansom, Arthur.

John Sansom started the watercress business at Ver House, c.1868.  Tom carried on the business after John’s retirement.  Charles and Harry started a watercress business at Watford which was operating for many years.

Nell Sansom married Dr. O’Malley and produced nine daughters and four sons, while Mary married Gregory Webb and produced nine sons and four daughters!!
