“Ramblings of a Great Eastern Engineman”
Paperback – 1 Oct. 1999
by Albert George Grose. Available from Amazon.
Starting in 1955 as an engine cleaner at age 15 at Hertford East MPD, the author details his experiences until electrification. Thought provoking.
Chapter Four: A day’s work on the Buntingford branch in 1950, by George Don, a friend & fellow work mate of Albert Grose. With sketches & photos, a long gone era is brought to life.. The book is invaluable for “Bunt” historians.
