KJ - a local eccentric

Ken Johnson - passed away 13th January 2018

Ken Johnson – mentioned in an article about Letchworth Library – Full name: Kenneth Robertson Drummond Johnson. As well as being a long term librarian at Letchworth he was also a local historian, local scoutmaster, local member of the Civil defence and local eccentric! Sadly he died on 13th January 2018.

Ken wrote “The Book of Letchworth”.

I upload an image of him (he hated having his photograph taken).

  • So sorry to hear about Kenneths passing, I first met Kenneth about 15 years ago at a LGC Society meeting at the “Skittles” ! and later at an evening public meeting at the Spirella, he kindly signed his “Letchworth” book for me and inscribed it “to a true Letchworth badger” , we kept in correspondence for a few years by letter, and whenever I was in LGC would call on him. RIP Kenneth.
