Memories of living in Letchworth from 1955 to Sept 1967

Late 50’s I lived with my parents in a flat on Station Road above Bugby’s barber shop and The Cabin (tobacconist/confectionist) /Simmonds (coach hire). Opposite Fords.
Outside The Cabin was a vending machine. In summer you inserted a 6p (tanner) and rotated the big handle on the front three times, on the third turn out would drop a choc-ice. In the winter a Mars bar.
I think I remember a milk machine beside it.
By 1960 we moved into a council house on Campers Road….More to follow…
