I was at this school in 1965. Are there any pics from that date? I was Susan Blackwood.
Hi Susan
Thanks for your comment. I’ll pass your question about images on to the team at Herts Archives & Local Studies to see if they can help.

Hello,
I’m looking to find some roots to the fathers side of my family.
My father was Tom Gurnett and I can remember my grandparents who lived between hoddeston and rye park. Sadly we moved to Norfolk when I was 7 (I’m now 54) and I never saw my grandparents again or my father.
I’m wondering if Jean Gurnett in the photo may be a relative (sister of Tom who also had a brother ).
I know that my father moved to Worcestershire and was a carpenter.
If anyone has any information, I would be so grateful.
Thank you very much
Susan
Over ten years since I posted this photo! To Jane Drew I would say that Geoffrey Cowler is in this photo, top row second from left. He was a friend of mine. However, there was another Geoffrey Cowler in Hoddesdon so perhaps the above Geoffrey is not your dad. The headmaster was Mr. Upton. Indeed it was Brian Gilbert from Middlefield Road.
Did you have a son called Craig Gilbert who would be about 52 now
My Dad, Geoffrey Cowler is NOT in this photo. Probably playing truant again as his only memory of school was being caned on the palm! Can anyone tell me the name of the Headmaster? I believe he was Scottish.
Is that the Brian Gilbert from Middlefield Road?
If it is, I bought my first car from him around 1960.
Anyone who remembers me, I would be please to hear from.
